Darell began his 48-year marriage to the love of his life, Jeneane Hoff on October 5th, 1968. Darell and Jeneane started their family in Beloit Wi, where they had three sons. While in Beloit, Darell worked at multiple locations, including Beloit College and Gardner Machine. In 1980, the family moved to Montello, Wi. There, Darell enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working outdoors. Darell was a creative person who always had a new idea and loved inventing new things, especially fishing lures, which he would at one time, market through Bass Pro Shops. The Phalin's ran the restaurant until 1989. Afterwards, Darell kept busy woodworking in his shop, and later, opened an antique shop with Jeneane, called "The Clearwater Curio". After leaving the Eagle River area, Darell and Jeneane spent most of their remaining time in Crivitz, Wi. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and sharing his hunting and fishing knowledge with them. He loved animals and loved spoiling his dogs and teaching them tricks. He loved sharing his humorous and wild stories of his many youthful adventures. His sense of humor and colorful personality will be missed.
